CASE STUDY
When Elizabeth, a 45-year-old executive came to see me, she said she had noticed changes in her face with each year that passed and that she wasn’t feeling as beautiful or confident as she once did. She went on to say that her chin had begun to sag and that there was a general loss to her skin’s elasticity. Her complexion had even become duller. She wanted to regain her youthful look and feel more confident. After learning more about her background and lifestyle during her consultation, I recommended weekly facial acupuncture treatments.
A few months later, Elizabeth came in for her weekly treatment. As we began talking, she enthusiastically showed me a photo of her which was taken a year-and-a-half before. She pointed to it and told me that since she had started facial acupuncture, her face had changed—her jawline and cheekbones had become more defined, and her complexion was much brighter and youthful looking than it was when the photo was taken. She said when she looked in the mirror she felt great.
A few years later, Elizabeth told me that the unthinkable had happened—she had been diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo chemotherapy. Through her chemo treatments, she did her best to see me each week—she wanted to keep our momentum going and wanted to look as healthy as possible, while diminishing the visual impact of her chemotherapy treatments.
