Women’s Issues

For thousands of years, infertility and menstrual issues have been successfully treated with herbal medication and acupuncture.

For many women who experience issues with fertility or their menstrual cycles, acupuncture treatments and herbal remedies offer a tried-and-true natural alternative to western medication or surgeries.

For those who want to have children, experiencing difficulties getting pregnant can be incredibly challenging. Perhaps you’ve been trying for months or years and sought help from a number of different medical professionals. It can be physically and emotionally draining, to say the least.

Issues with irregular or painful periods are just as frustrating.

For thousands of years, infertility and menstrual issues have been successfully treated with herbal medication and acupuncture. If you’re experiencing infertility or issues with your monthly cycle, let’s talk and create a treatment that’s best for you, your lifestyle, and your dreams for the future.

CASE STUDY – Fertility

Samantha, 35, came in to see me and explained that she experienced three miscarriages during the past two years. Currently, she is five weeks pregnant and desperate to prevent another miscarriage.

She went on to reveal that her physician told her there were signs of instability in the fetus and that he was unable to prevent another miscarriage, so he referred her to me.

Jessica asked about acupuncture, but the condition she presented was deficiency. When the womb is deficient, it is best to be treated with herbs, rather than acupuncture. After learning more about her health history, pregnancy history, lifestyle, eating habits, stress level, and emotional and mental state, I created a monthly treatment plan for her which included specific herbs that would address her condition.

The Result

After seven months of my herbal medication treatment, Jessica gave birth to a healthy baby girl at full term.

CASE STUDY – Irregular Menstruation

Monica, 33, comes in for amenorrhea (not having menstruation). It has been six months since her last period and she reports that her monthly cycle became irregular two years ago, skipping a few times a year. (Prior to that, her menstruation was regular, always falling on the same day of the month.) It didn’t alarm her too much when it first started to skip; however, after a year and a half of irregularity, it completely stopped. She is now very concerned because she wants to eventually have a family.

When I delved deeper into her history, Monica revealed that she began practicing hot yoga around the time it became irregular, along with other lifestyle factors that concerned me.

My treatment plan for Monica included acupuncture twice a week, an herbal formula, and a recommendation to limit the amount of time practicing hot yoga.

The Result

After two weeks of treatment, Monica’s menstruation came back, but it was only for two days and the flow was light. After six months of treatments, her menstruation became regular and flowed normally.  Now, Monica comes in twice a month for acupuncture and herbal maintenance, and her menstruation is still regular.
